Live and lively vintage blogs.

Have you seen the appalling state of 'vintage' blogs and websites these days?  By that I mean the huge number out there on the internet that haven't been updated for 5, 6, 7, 8 years or worse.  Blog roll pages have turned into nothing much more than depressing lists of the neglected and forgotten, the infuriatingly ad-ridden, or just dead links to nowhere. The blogs themselves no longer just talk about vintage - they have become vintage themselves.  What a waste. That's why great vintage blogs should be highlighted and celebrated, as they are here.

To be fair, there was a huge craze for vintage between around 2012-2018 and during that time a large number of vintage-related blogs were created, often using free blogging platforms.  Creating and posting regular fresh content isn't easy at all and its hardly surprising that some blogs just simply ran out of steam and because they are using free web platforms there is no incentive to close accounts.

Despite all, after clicking on dead link after dead link, or enduring the classic vintage blog where the 'influencing' author describes in her latest blog post how she's looking forward to the rest of 2017 (really, it exists), there are few vintage blogs out there that are still regularly updated with insightly, well researched and entertaining content.  These fine blogs deserve to be plucked out of endless lists of decaying dead links and brought to the attention of true vintage aficionados everywhere.

That is what this list is about then.  This is my 2021 list of the vintage blogs and websites I admire most, written by some of the characters I admire most too.  There are not many blogs featured here because there are very few that fit the criteria.  I won't let this list go stale - these links are checked automatically for flatliners.

Thank you for reading this and may I wish you all a vintage-tastic 2013!   I hope you like my choices...

Vintage Dancer

Almost certainly the most popular vintage fashion-related website ever with well over 3.5 million organic hits per month, Vintage Dancer isn't really a blog as such but was founded with one simple idea in mind: give the info-hungry enquirer the authoritative vintage fashion facts that they need. Simple yet effective.  The brainchild of Debbie Sessions and hubby Oscar.  Fabulous!
